For those of you who know me already, I aim to eliminate disease with food. Medical science plays a huge role in making that happen. This is why I am so grateful to be nominated to help raise money to fund blood cancer therapy research in 2020.
If you aren't familiar with what the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society does (aka LLS), let me briefly describe it to you. When a pharmaceutical company has what they feel is a potential "cure" or "therapy" for specific type of blood cancer, the LLS steps in and will fund the medical research, human testing, etc to produce the appropriate data to prove to the FDA that the drug works. From there, the information is returned to the original developer and submitted to the FDA to become approved for treatments.
Starting in April of 2020, the national annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign will kick off in communities across the Untied States. Nominated candidates, such as Me and their teams will reach out to people like you, and ask you to help fund more cancer research. Your money will help fund cures for blood cancer, ESPECIALLY for children. Since 1985 only 4 therapies have been approved and blood cancer is the #1 form of childhood cancer.
